I just wanted to do a few exercises at home. Instead, I got stuck figuring out how to get started.
My body fat percentage is high enough to put me in the obese range. I’ve been trying to lose body fat, mostly by running. When my progress plateaued, I thought I’d add some strength training.
I didn’t have time to go to the gym, and I was tired of the sales pitches for memberships and training sessions. So I figured I’d find a couple of exercises and do a few sets at home.
But finding an app to help turned out to be another problem.
Every app started by setting up a workout plan. Once I’d gone through that, I’d be looking at half an hour or an hour of exercise every day. The schedule alone felt overwhelming, let alone sticking to it. And apps these days have so many ads and features. I just wanted to do a couple of exercises.
My ideal app would simply let me choose a few exercises, decide how many sets to do, and start working out.
That’s why I made Movo.
Movo is a workout app you can open whenever you feel like moving. Choose your exercises, set the reps, duration and sets, then tap GO. Do just one exercise, or put a few together.
If you’re tired and want a shorter session, long-press GO and choose “Do less”. Movo reduces the workout for you, so you don’t have to adjust each exercise yourself.
No need to watch the clock or keep count
Movo runs a timer for your plank and counts squat reps at the pace you set. Follow along without losing count halfway through.

A record of every workout
Movo saves your workout history. Open the activity calendar to see when you exercised, what you did and how long you spent. You can also turn your records into an image to share with friends.
You don’t have to work out for long every time. Move when you have a moment. Every move counts.
